Info for A Bigger Bang (Live on Copacabana Beach - Remastered)

The Rolling Stones and Mercury Studios will proudly release for the first time this complete concert film remixed, re-edited, and remastered.

Nearly 60 years since he began performing, Mick Jagger has learned how to read an audience within minutes of hitting the stage every night: ["The audience is, like, very enthusiastic, or maybe medium enthusiastic, or they seem a bit tired, or they've been in the heat all day. And you can tell from their reaction in the first few minutes how the audience is gonna be, and how you should approach the mood of the concert. You watch them and you listen. And also, you have to hear how the sound is. Sometimes, it's, like, a good balance onstage — sometimes it's not, and you have to adjust things and you tell the sound guy, 'That's too loud . . . that's not loud enough.' And how is the band playing? Are they kind of playing well straight away, or are they a little bit lackadaisical — or whatever. So, y'know, that first five minutes is really key."]

Welcome to Rio De Janeiro and the Rolling Stones legendary show from Copacabana Beach. In front of 1.5 million people, one of the biggest free concerts in history, The Rolling Stones performance on February 18th, 2006 was a historic event; a critical moment in Rock n Roll history. As Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts fire on all pistons from one track to the next, the crowd continues to meet their energy waving Brazilian and British flags while rocking out in the tropical evening sunset. With incredible staging and graphics, this fully restored and remastered concert from their A Bigger Bang world tour now includes four previously unreleased tracks; "Tumbling Dice," "Oh No", "Not You Again," "This Place is Empty" and "Sympathy For The Devil."

“Not that we're unused to playing some of the biggest shows in the world, but I must say Rio did take the cake,” said Keith Richards.

“‘It was amazing,” states Mick Jagger. “It was a really good audience. They know how to enjoy themselves on those occasions.”

If you’re going to do it, do it up big, and no one does it bigger and better than The Stones!
