Philharmonisches Orchester Altenburg-Gera
In 2001, six years after the fusion of the Landestheater Altenburg and the stages of the city of Gera to form the Theater Altenburg-Gera, the Landeskapelle Altenburg and the Philharmonic Orchestra Gera were also merged into one ensemble. The focus of the orchestra is in the rich musical tradition of Central Germany, works of composers persecuted by the Nazis, and the classics of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Premieres regularly supplement the repertoire. Radio broadcasts with MDR Figaro and Deutschlandradio Kultur provide for national recognition of the Philharmonic Orchestra Altenburg-Gera.

The Philharmonic Orchestra Altenburg-Gera has also received an excellent reputation for its regular performances in the Dresden Frauenkirche, In addition to renowned soloists such as Bernd Glemser, Gábor Boldoczki, and Martin Funda, highly talented young performers regularly perform with the Philharmonic Orchestra Altenburg-Gera.

Lutz Rademacher
was born in Lübeck in 1969and studied conducting with Klauspeter Seibel atthe Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.He was assistant to the principal conductor at the Theater Basel and principal Kapellmeister at the Theater Freiburg. Rademacher developed his interest in new forms of music theatre in encounters with stage directors such as Claus Guth and CalixtoBieito.He worked together with Sebastian Nüblingto bring to life the Judith project, with which he gave his debut at the Salzburger Festspiele and theStaatsoper Stuttgart. Further guest appearances have seen him conduct at the Komische Oper Berlin, in Hanover and the Antwerp/Ghent. He regularly works with the Deutsche Symphonie OrchesterBerlin. Since the beginning of the 2013/14 season, Lutz Rademacher has been General musik direktorat the Landestheater Detmold.

Péter Dobszay
was born in Budapest in 1990. Hestudied organ with László Fassang, János Pálúr, IstvánRuppert and Zsolt Hamar, and conducting with András Ligeti, Tamás Gál and Ádam Medveczky atthe Franz Liszt Music Academy in his home town. Dobszay conducts the Szolnok Symphony Orchestraand is the organist at the Great Synagoguein Budapest as well as the Church of the Holy Angelsin Gazdagrét. In 2017, he reached the final round at the internationalMaestro Solti conducting competition, where he received the audience award. As an organist, he gives concerts across the globe and has been awarded numerous prizes at international competitions.
