Zuzanna Sosnowska
Polish cellist Zuzanna Sosnowska is an active soloist, chamber musician, and teacher at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. She is the winner (ex aequo) of the 10th Witold Lutoslawski International Cello Competition in Warsaw and the laureate of over 20 prizes at international competitions.
Her concerts have been broadcast by Polish Radio Programme 2, Norddeutscher Rundfunk, Radio Nacional de España, Idagio, and Allegro HD Television Her musical education brought her to Weimar, Madrid, and Lübeck, where she studied under professors such as Wolfgang Emmanuel Schmidt, Jens Peter Maintz, Fernando Arias, and Troels Svane.
The Sosnowska-Garcías Duo is a dynamic and internationally acclaimed chamber ensemble formed by cellist Zuzanna Sosnowska and pianist Magí Garcías. Formed at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT in Weimar, Germany, the duo has quickly gained recognition for their exceptional artistry and dynamic performances across Spain, France, Croatia, Sweden, Poland, Italy, and Germany.
The duo has been a laureate in international competitions, including the Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition and the Swedish International Duo Competition, and they have performed at international festivals such as the J. Waldorff’s Summer Festival in Poland, the Julitafestivalen in Sweden, the Ostinato International Chamber Music Festival Omiš in Croatia, and the Brahms Festival de Pollença 2022 in Spain. Their performances combine technical mastery with great emotional depth, making them an exceptional duo on the map of European chamber music.
Magí Garcías
Born in Palma, pianist Magí Garcías is a versatile artist. He has collaborated with artists such as Aitor Hevia and Dudu Carmel. His musical training includes studies at prestigious institutions in Zaragoza, Weimar, and Nürnberg, where he graduated with honors. A recipient of numerous international awards, including the Steinway Förderpreis, his artistic development was guided by professors such as Aurelia Vișovan, Iván Cítera, Natalia Trull, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, and Gerlinde Otto.
Moreover, as a versatile musician, he has released several recordings, including Refractio VOL. 2: Debussy and Nuredduna. He has shared his pedagogic experience in masterclasses at the University of Arts, Tirana (Albania) and the Conservatori Professional de Música i Dansa de Menorca, in addition to serving as an associate professor at the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears. Currently he works as a piano accompanist at the Bern Academy of the Arts.
