Laurant Waagschale
One of the most original pianists of his generation, Laurent Wagschal is recognised as a fervent interpreter of French music and ardent defender of its ill-known composers, as attests his discography, warmly greeted by the press (Télérama, Le Monde, Diapason, Classica, Pianiste Magazine...) and consisting of some thirty solo and chamber recordings devoted to Saint-Saëns, Fauré, Franck, Chausson, Debussy, Magnard, Dukas, Pierné, Gaubert, Schmitt, Emmanuel, Cras, Tomasi...
He has also recorded with Nicolas Dautricourt Szymanowski’s complete music for violin and piano as well as Chausson’s Concert and Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto, accompanied by the Orchestre d’Auvergne conducted by Arie van Beek. He has been nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2011 in the category «Best Recording of the Year» for the integral of chamber music with winds of Saint-Saëns performed with the soloists of the Orchestre de Paris. Impassioned by chamber music, which he considers essential for his development, he performs, in particular, with the violinist Solenne Païdassi, the flute player Vincent Lucas, the Wind Quintet of the Orchestre de Paris... He has won several international awards and has been a soloist with the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, the Orchestre Pasdeloup, the Orchestre de la Cité Universitaire de Paris, the Orchestre d’Auvergne, the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Classica Orchestra of Moscow.
Marc Trenel
has played with various orchestras including the Orchestre de Paris, the MDR Symphony Orchestra and the Nederlands Radio Kamerphilharmonie. In addition to his position as solo bassoonist with the Orchestre de Paris, he holds a professorship at the Paris conservatoire and is a permanent member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Marc Trénel records exclusively for IndéSENS records. He has recorded Chambre Music and Sonatas of Saint-Saëns, Poulenc, Schumann and Tansman, as well as a recital album (INDE011).
Andre Cazalet
The solo french horn of the Orchestre de Paris since 1980. At the same time, he pursued a solo career that led him to perform in Europe, North America and Japan, notably with Daniel Baremboïm, the Talich Quartet, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Gérard Caussé, Maurice Bourgue, Katia and Marielle Labèque. Michel Portal, Michael Levinas... His repertoire extends from the 18th century to our time, and he carries out research work with composers of the new generation. He has been teaching since 1985 at the CNSM in Paris. He has recorded at IndéSENS Records since 2010 and participated in the complete chamber music recordings of Poulenc, Saint- Saëns and Schumann, with Claire Désert, Laurent Wagschal and Hélène Tysman. He recently appeared at the Victoires de la Musique, named in the solo category of the year. His albums are regularly lauded by the press : Choc Classic-a, 5 Diapasons... This recording of Trios by Brahms and Ligeti received the Grand Prix du disque.
Philippe Berrod
is principal clarinet of the Orchestre de Paris. He is First Prize 1987 of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris (unanimously awarded) and has awards from several international competitions. His repertoire is wide : from the Concerto by Mozart to the “Dialogue de l’ombre double” by Pierre Boulez. He often performs with great international artists and composers, a as well as with the “Sirba Octet” and “Jazz Conotation Quartet” with whom he fulfils his thirst for the offbeat tracks of living music. He is also invited as soloist by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the European Chamber Orchestra and the Bayerish Rundfunk in Munich. He has recorded albums with various labels such as IndéSENS Records, Sony Classical... and an educational CD Rom with 210 works. Philippe Berrod participated to the Complete works of Saint-Saens and Poulenc published in 2010 by IndéSENS Records, unanimously awarded. Since 2010, he is artistic consultant of the prestigious Selmer Paris clarinets’ manufacturer.
Alexandre Gattet
begun playing the oboe at the age of seven, in Albi (Tarn-France). After having received at the age of fourteen, the gold medal at the Toulouse Conservatoire, he started the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in Jean-Louis Capazalli’s class. David Walter and Jacques Tys won, unanimously, in 1998 and 1999 first awards for oboe and chamber music. Having won first prize at the “Gillet” international competition (USA-19) and at theTokyo International Competition (2000), he is chosen by Christoph Eschenbach, in December 2000, as principal oboe at the Orchestre de Paris, and becomes a graduate, in September 2002, of the famous ARD competition in Munich. He is noticed during his Midem recital in Cannes, and then takes part in many festivals in France, such as Pablo Casals in Prades, the Emperi, Octobre en Normandie, Deauville... as well as abroad : the Nations festival in Germany, Martinu festival in Prague, and the famous Ravinia festival in Chicago. Alexandre Gattet takes part in chamber music tours, all around the world and is also invited as principal oboe with the most well- known orchestras : Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, The Bavarian Radio’s Orchestra in Munich, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
Vincent Lucas
Currently principal solo flute of the Orchestre de Paris, Vincent Lucas has held the position of solo piccolo flute at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (Claudio Abbado) for 6 years, after playing with the Toulouse Capitol Orchestra. He has always led a dual career as an international soloist and an orchestral soloist. Renowned pedagogue, he gives masterclasses in the whole world. In 1995, he became assistant to Alain Marion then to Sophie Cherrier at CNSM in Paris. In 1999, he was also appointed Senior Professor at CRR of Paris. Recognized by his peers, he is very much demanded for chamber music activities with prestigious musicians including Christoph Eschenbach, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Christian Ivaldi, Eric Le Sage and Paul Meyer... Since 2010, he has been recording exclusively with IndeSENS Records, and has participated in six Dutilleux, Saint-Saens, Debussy, Gaubert, Poulenc and Jevtic integrals, which have won numerous awards : Classica Choc, 4 Télérama Keys, 5 Diapasons, Supersonic Pizzicato... He has also published a recital album of French sonatas with Emmanuel Strosser. Vincent Lucas plays on Japanese instruments from Muramatsu.
