Alexander Ramm
is the winner of the Silver Medal at the XV Tchaikovsky International Competition, and has garnered prizes at numerous other musical competitions including the Cambridge International Boston Competition, Beijing International Music Competition and the National Music Competition (Moscow). To this day, Mr. Ramm is the only Russian finalist and laureate of the most prestigious Paulo Cello Competition in Helsinki.

Alexander Ramm was born May 9, 1988 in Vladivostok. He was educated at the Glière Children Music School in Kaliningrad (class of Svetlana Ivanova), then at the Moscow Chopin College of Performing Arts (class of Marina Zhuravlyova). In 2012 Alexander graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and was awarded the Postgraduate Diploma (class of Prof. Natalia Shakhovskaya, People’s Artist of the USSR). Currently he is honing his performance skills under Frans Helmerson at the Hanns Eisler College or Academy of Music (Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler) in Berlin. Mr. Ramm also trained at the Musical Academy of Courchevel (Académie Musicale de Courchevel) and the International Holland Music Sessions workshops where he studied under such professors as Philippe Mueller, Reinhard Latzko, Maria Kliegel and Uzi Wiesel. Alexander also participated in the Verbier Festival Academy (2011) where he was tutored by Gary Hoffmann, Frans Helmerson, Masaaki Suzuki, Lawrence Power and Ferenc Rados. He graduated from Verbier Festival Academy with a commendation award from Neva Foundation (Geneva, Switzerland).

Mr. Ramm is actively involved in all the major projects of the St. Petersburg House of Music and regularly takes part in projects promoting young talents presented by Moscow Philharmonic Society, including pthe rogram «The Stars of The 21st Century» both in Moscow and around Russia. Alexander also participates in the Moscow Easter Festival founded by Valery Gergiev.

Mr. Ramm has performed in numerous cities throughout Russia, Lithuania, Sweden, Austria, Finland, South Africa, Japan, France and Bulgaria. The world’s top concert venues are always eager to feature Mr. Ramm’s solo recitals: he has performed at Brucknerhaus (Linz), Nikkei Hall (Tokyo), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall and the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Mr. Ramm has collaborated extensively with world’s leading conductors including Constantine Orbelian, Vladimir Spivakov, Valery Gergiev, Alexander Sladkovsky and Valery Polyansky. Mr. Ramm has performed with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov”, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra amongst others.
