Riccardo Doni
Born in Milan in 1965, he graduated in Organ and Organ Composition at the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito in Parma under the guidance of Maestro Lorenzo Ghielmi. He later graduated in Organ and Harpsichord and Historical Keyboards in the class of Jean Claude Zehnder at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. In the more than 1,700 concerts performed as organist and harpsichordist, he has played for important concert seasons in Italy and abroad as accompanist and soloist. Since 1994 he has been a permanent collaborator of the prestigious ensemble "Il Giardino Armonico" in Milan, as harpsichordist and organist, with whom he has given concerts in some of the most important halls in the world. He is harpsichordist of the ensemble "Imaginarium," formed in 2002 by violinist Enrico Onofri to perform Italian vocal and instrumental music of the 17th century. Since 2008 he has been playing in a duo with violinist Giuliano Carmignola with whom he has given concerts in some important European halls. From 1984 to 2009 he was artistic director of the Association "Musica Laudantes" in Milan and the vocal group of the same name. From 1990 to 1996 he was director of the choir of the "Nuova Polifonica Ambrosiana" and from the foundation to 1998 of the "Madrigalisti Ambrosiani" with whom he gave concerts in Italy and abroad. He occasionally collaborates with "I cameristi della Scala", "I solisti di Pavia" and other prestigious chamber ensembles. In 2010 he founded the Music Association "Canone Inverso" of which he is artistic director. He has been a lecturer at the conservatories of Ferrara and Castelfranco Veneto. He has recorded for Decca, Teldec, Zig Zag, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Supraphon, Naïve, Opus 111, Nichion.
