Info for Full Circle

World-renowned acoustic and electric bassist Brian Bromberg hasn’t released an album in the U.S. since 2012, a fact that might not have been cause for concern if you know that at one point he released three albums in one year. Every man deserves a break. However, once you realize that this chameleon with over 20 projects in his catalog recently had reason to believe that he might never play music again, you understand the gravity of his latest acoustic jazz project, Full Circle - one he says may well be “the most important record of my career.”

“This album is just a swinging, in-your-face traditional jazz album with simple tunes that are easy to sing along with and remember, but have a foundation in hardcore ‘real’ jazz.”

Brian Bromberg
Grammy®-nominated bassist and composer Brian Bromberg is one of the most innovative and versatile voices in jazz. With a career spanning over four decades, Bromberg has released more than 30 solo albums, blending mainstream acoustic jazz, smooth and contemporary jazz, fusion, rock, funk, Latin, and orchestral styles with his signature virtuosity and melodic storytelling.

He has collaborated with a who’s who of the music world, including artists as diverse as: Stan Getz, Horace Silver, Sting, Michael Buble’, Herb Alpert, Sarah Vaughan, George Duke, Arturo Sandoval, Boney James, Jeff Lorber, Lee Ritenour, Billy Cobham, Kirk Whalum, Andrea Bocelli, Randy Brecker, and Freddie Hubbard.

Known for his pioneering use of piccolo bass—sounding more like a lead guitar than a bass—Bromberg has redefined the instrument’s role in modern music.

His discography includes chart-topping albums like You Know That Feeling, Downright Upright, The Magic of Moonlight, Thicker Than Water, and A Little Driving Music. He’s also known for conceptually bold tributes such as Jaco, Bromberg Plays Hendrix, In the Spirit of Jobim, and LaFaro, honoring the late great bassist, Scott LaFaro.

Beyond his solo work, Bromberg has played on numerous film soundtracks (The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Preacher’s Wife, The Recruit), produced hits for other artists through his B² Productions company, and earned acclaim for his audiophile recordings like Wood and Hands.

Brian's passion for electric bass design has been a defining part of his professional career, with signature models accompanying him every step of the way. His latest creation—developed in collaboration with Kiesel Guitars and proudly manufactured in the USA—represents the culmination of years of refinement and innovation. The B2 Series Basses are the result of Brian’s relentless pursuit of tone, comfort, and playability. Ergonomically designed and sonically outstanding, the B2 line reflects both Brian’s artistic vision and Kiesel’s craftsmanship.

A relentless innovator and musical storyteller, Brian Bromberg continues to push the boundaries of what the bass can do—delivering soulful, world-class performances with every project.
