Born from a totally improvised breath, as alive and impulsive as a beating heart, the meeting between these two free electrons of jazz was made in the depths of the wild Cévennes.
During two days of live sessions, the inspiration is free and the sound flows like a river, hence the title of the record "Free Tao".
Under the appearance of worked compositions, it is the result of listening and complicity of every second.
The risk is maximum because no plan is given at the beginning.
Each musician expresses through these improvisations his experience and his ability to adapt his playing to the moment.
From the thinly veiled dedication to drummer Milford Graves to the nod to Steve Coleman, the duo draws an open panel of the recent history of jazz.
