Gjertrud Lunde's debut album 'Hjemklang' is an impressive collection of songs, gently inviting the listener on an atmospheric journey, sharing experiences and impressions of the distance travelled.

Her soulful compositions are skilfully wrapped with impressionist sound paintings, just as with groovy beats. Therewith, Gjertrud Lunde creates a musical cosmos, that exceeds artistic, stylistic and national boundaries in an effortless manner. Her timeless music is a sensitive blend of Jazz, Classical, Pop and World Music.

An excellent four-piece band adds a wide range of expression to Gjertrud Lunde's voice. The Cologne based artist sings her compositions in English, Norwegian, French and Portuguese. Diverse and homogeneous at the same time, 'Hjemklang' unfolds its own magic, keeping the quality level up to the very last note. With luminosity, lightness -always accompanied by a live near depth- the album sounds as close and familiar as a good old friend.

Gjertrud Lunde
grew up in a musical family in Norway and had her first performances already at the age of four. During her studies at the conservatory in Stavanger (Norway), she won several singing competitions, prizes and scholarships. She post graduated in The Hague (Netherlands) in both classical singing and early music. Simultaneously she continued performing in different productions, festivals and concert tours throughout Europe and USA.

She settled down in Germany where she started a family. Here she developed her own sound and combined her favourite music styles: first of all early music and jazz. Gjertrud Lunde lives currently in Cologne where she works as a freelance singer. She also teaches, gives workshops and works with different choirs.
