Info for Leopold van der Pals: String Quartets Vol.2

"Exquisite music between late Romanticism and Impressionism, which [...] absolutely deserves to be heard." Little can be added to the words of the reviewer who discussed the first part of this complete recording for klassik-heute: Leopold van der Pals, the son of Danish-Dutch parents who grew up in Russia, spent his life searching for the truths that unfold in higher realms – through the natural scientist Goethe and his spiritual successor Rudolf Steiner, through his own experiences, and through ever-renewed explorations of the possibilities of the infinite metamorphosis to which all becoming is subject. This latest release concludes the cycle of string quartets and also presents, as a bonus, the beautifully sonorous and distinctive Quintet for Flute and Strings, which, in its renunciation of all virtuosic posturing, is particularly compelling for the composer.
