Maxim Emelyanychev's Mozart affinity is well known, especially when it comes to the piano works: in 2018, the conductor and pianist treated his audience to a sonata recording that demonstrated his virtuosity and musicality - and his remarkable understanding of the composer's music. The approach of the new, long-term project with the Il Pomo d'Oro ensemble is original: each volume of the planned complete recording will feature an early symphony by Mozart together with one of his great mature symphonies. In addition, one work will feature a special guest, starting with the Piano Concerto No. 23 with the conductor at the fortepiano.
