Info for Get Your Goat
Get Your Goat is a young jazz quartet that is playing the music of trumpet-player Øyvind Mathisen. The band started up in 2018 at the prestigious jazz-academy in Trondheim, Norway and has been playing concerts all over Scandinavia for three years now. Get Your Goat represents the latest generation of interesting and engaging Scandinavian jazz musicians, for whom we can expect many great music experiences in the future. The music consists of original compositions specially written to fit this drumless setting that gives the band great amounts of creative space to work in and a unique sound. Get Your Goat blends complex chamber-arrangements with driving, intense swing and with melodies inspired by jazz idols like Thelonious Monk and Charles Mingus.
