Paul Klee’s picture Ad marginem provides inspiration and context for the present programme and is a visual guide to performance for us as Talistrio: a radiant red circle in the middle, while around it - driven back to the margin - living creatures and abstract objects emerge. It is surely this mixture of melancholy and hope that links all the works listed below, be it Casella’s neoclassical dance on the volcano from the early 20th century, Tchaikovsky’s death and its shattering inspirational impulse upon the young Rachmaninoff, or the Japanese child scene at sunset. Amazement and admiration have attended Talistrio since its debut concert of 2012. The press credits the trio with “great intensity and virtuosity”, “great differentiation of tone”, and a “spiritual penetration of the compositions followed through to the slightest detail”. Talistrio is the Augsburg piano trio that belongs to a new generation as an international ensemble. It was in 2011 that siblings Elisa and Wenzel Gummer joined cellist Takuro Okada to form a German-Japanese trio. Concert tours have since taken them from Bavaria to Holland, Switzerland and Japan. Talistrio sets great store by projects promoting exchange and understanding between the German and Japanese cultures.

The Talistrio already met with astonishment and admiration at its debut concert in 2012. The Süddeutsche Zeitung attested to both "great intensity and virtuosity" and "the greatest differentiation of tone".

The Talistrio is the Augsburg piano trio that belongs to a new generation as an international ensemble. In 2011, the brother and sister duo Elisa and Wenzel Gummer, as well as the cellist Takuro Okada, joined forces to form a German-Japanese trio. Since then, concert tours have taken them from Bavaria and Saarland to Holland, Switzerland and Japan.

The young trio's concept and interpretation have been influenced by Prof. Christoph Henschel at the Leopold Mozart Centre of the University of Augsburg, Prof. Marisa Somma in Bari, Italy, and Prof. Tatevik Mokatsian at the Hochschule für Musik Saar. Projects for exchange and understanding between the German and Japanese cultures are particularly close to his heart.

During his studies, a concert recording was made by Saarland Radio as part of the Saarbrücken Chamber Music Week with the first trio by D. Shostakovich. In 2019, the Talistrio was appointed by the city of Sakai/Osaka, Nishiwaki, and Figaro Hall for a concert tour to Japan. The trio's string players also honoured the world-renowned string quartet "Henschel Quartett" with the Jubilee Award 2019 in the Seligenstadt String Festival. The pianist is, among other things, a scholarship holder of the graduate promotion programme of the University of Saar and the Richard Wagner Association.

In 2022, the Talistrio will perform at the music festival "Kulturtag am alten Gaswerk" in Augsburg, as well as at the "Autumn Music Festival at Lake Biwa in Otsu" as part of its 2nd concert tour in Japan, in addition to various concerts. It also releases its first CD recording with works by A. Casella, S. Rachmaninow and others from the label "Solo Musica".

The Talistrio cooperates with BMR Artist & Project Management and is a member of the Verband der Streichquartette und weiterer Kammermusik-Ensembles e.V. (VdSQ).
