Info for Ternion Quartet (feat. Silke Eberhard, Geoffroy De Masure & Roland Schneider)

The Ternion Quartet plays original compositions by bassist and composer Anne Mette Iversen. Rooted in tradition, free in spirit and with a focus on modern jazz grooves and swing, the music builds on a concept where harmonies are created through linear movement. The melodies embody a unique freshness and the improvisations are exciting as the full emotional spectrum of human lives is present in this band and it’s music: craziness, softness, bewilders-ness, energy, sadness, joy, and so on. Each musician is an outstanding improvisor that pays equal attention to his/her role in the ensemble.

"The music is virtuosic and engaging, demanding attention from the listener. Especially exciting are the musical dialogues between the trombone and the alto saxophone; as they engage in discussion, 'fights' and then come together again. Also the solos from all the musicians - including drummer Roland Schneider - are from the top shelf". (HuGe, Er-em-online.de)
