Info for Migrating Songs
Guitarist and composer Niclas Knudsen is a well-known face on the Danish music scene and plays with, among others, Ibrahim Electric, Kalaha and Niclas Knudsen Trio and has received a DMA for the project "Niclas Knudsen - Guitar Inferno".
"Migrating Songs" is Niclas' latest release, which will be released on 1/2/23. The compositions are all written by Niclas at a time when the longing was great. This time the music searches beyond national borders and flies towards more southern skies with "Little Bird of Passage", is inspired by Catalonian rhythms in "Catalan Call", reaches all the way east to the dramas of war in "Lord of Disaster" and then finds peace again in the Swedish forests in "Småland".

Niclas Knudsen Trio
Experience three very familiar faces in the Danish music scene when one of Denmark's most interesting guitarists Niclas Knudsen embarks on his brand new project. With his original expressive expression, Knudsen is always on his way to new adventures, and this time he sets off with a couple of good old musical playmates Kresten Osgood and Anders AC Christensen, who fully match the bandleader with their inventive and masterful playing. Taking jazz as their starting point, the three brave fiddlers travel north in search of new hunting grounds. Along the way, reminiscences of old folk songs, hymns and ballads emerge, leading the music to a musical genre that Niclas Knudsen calls the Nordic blues. Stories about the hardships, longings and joys of the past mingle with the free tones of jazz, and the sounds of both present and past meet.
