Info for KEIR

It is the opaque and mysterious elements of music that we humans always want to get lost in. British singer–songwriter Keir understood this right from the beginning of his career and made it the credo of his work. Inspired by shining lights of the 20th century such as Aretha Frankling, David Bowie, andPrince, the 25-year-old singer with an almost muscular timbre makes larger-than-life pop music for the stadiums of the 21st century and thus follows in the footsteps of exactly those musicians he admired so much as a child and teenager. “Music is my outlet for everything: fear, love, sadness, ecstasy” – and it’s audible and palpable in every note. His current single “Shiver” demonstrates this in an impressive way, but like so many of his songs, it was created in an impromptu studio in a friend’s kitchen. Approaching things in an unprepared and untamed way is his style, which often enough leads to such epic results as his latest single, “Lemonade”. This description may sound exaggerated, but it isn’t: This man has the potential to follow the greats of pop history, as the next few years will doubtless show. And you can experience him with us before the hype gets too big.

“Every once in a while you come across an artist who changes everything. Keir is one of them.” (BBC)

“Fantastically dark, highly evocative pop music, there’s a sense of Bowie’s grandeur or even Patti Smith’s brooding lyricism at play here.” (Clash Magazine)

Keir

Keir
is actually Keir Gordon and comes from Bristol. Even as a child, the singer-songwriter of today had a soft spot for pop music and would honour his family with regular exclusive performances. But music was then more than just a childish obsession and Keir was so serious about it that he studied at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. The lessons seemed dry to him at the time, but surrounded by a music-savvy environment, Keir's first live performances came, eventually even putting him on the radar of the BBC radio station. This was to be decisive, because after the singer-songwriter released his debut single in 2016, he was allowed to perform in the legendary Maida Vale Studios in London, through which the Beatles once walked, as part of the newcomer format BBC Introducing. With the help of this springboard, things went from strength to strength: Keir played the Glastonbury Festival, played his first support and then headline shows, and continues to release scattered singles to this day. The sound corresponds to the festival stages: Big, massive, with heavy drums and distorted guitars that only add to the pathos and drama in Keir's strong voice. Although this sounds like a sophisticated concept, the songs are often created through improvisation during sessions, including the latest single "Shiver". The singer-songwriter reveals this in the new video interview. Keir also talks about his musical beginnings, his student days and his passion for live performance.
