“Her Story” rather than “His Story”: On her new GENUIN album, the remarkable Austrian pianist Mitra Kotte reexamines music history, placing women composers of the 19th and 20th centuries at the forefront. How many people truly know the works of Dora Pejačević, Louise Farrenc, Cécile Chaminade, or Emilie Mayer as they deserve? Mitra Kotte, a prizewinner at international competitions, sheds light on a long-overlooked chapter of music. With great passion and the highest technical mastery, she introduces us to exquisite gems and profound works that leave us marveling both visually and aurally!

Mitra Kotte
born in Vienna, is a prizewinner of multiple international competitions and has received many awards for her interpretation of works of the Viennese Classical Style. With many years of concert experience as a soloist and chamber musician in the most renowned concert halls, Mitra Kotte is a regular guest at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Wiener Musikverein, and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF).

She has also performed in numerous festivals including the International Brucknerfest Linz, the Ljubljana Festival, the Carinthian Summer Music Festival, the Septembre Musical Montreux-Vevey, the Oberösterreichische Stiftskonzerte, and in concert halls such as the Tonhalle Zürich and the Dublin National Concert Hall.

She holds degrees in Piano Performance and Chamber Music from the internationally renowned University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has also studied at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
