Info for Mélina Tobiana
Very young, Melina Tobiana showed great interest in singing. After 12 years of classical piano studies at the Conservatoire National d'Aubervilliers La Courneuve, she enrolled at the I.A.C.P and learned jazz singing for 2 years. She followed classes of vocal improvisation, hear-training, scenic expression and perfected his vocal technique. With this experience, she played in several Parisian cafés-concerts and cabarets: les Trois Maillets, le Chat Noir, le Petit Pont, etc. Taking jazz standards, soul and bossa nova, she developed a rich and varied repertoire. She was accompanied by Benoît Daniel, Emmanuel Sourdeix and Mike Torjman. She continued to hone her voice and her ear with professors Eric Tavelli and Letitzia Morelli. At 27, Melina Tobiana has already been noted by some jazz greats names including Leon Parker (renowned American drummer) with whom she worked 2 years, Jerome Barde, Laurent Fickelson, etc. Today, Melina releases a new self-titled album. She continues to captivate with a deep and agile voice, playing with words, with rhythms and with her friends. Around her a cohesive team that plays and composes jazzy and Afro-American songs.
