Gregor Huebner, award-winning, Grammy-nominated composer and jazz violinist and member of the renowned Sirius Quartet, began these compositions for solo piano during the extremely difficult Corona period in New York in the spring of 2020, when he rediscovered piano playing as a spiritually positive pursuit. Every two weeks he would bike from Harlem to Queens to record one of his compositions for solo piano at Spin Recording Studios with Nik Chimboukas, his longtime recording engineer. The result is a collection of 14 preludes that starts with the title Cape of Good Hope.
