Info for Follow The Deadlights

DIABLO BLVD is a fully committed and successful metal band on the top of their game, formed in 2005 with all members hailing from the city of Antwerp, Belgium. The band is named after a CORROSION OF CONFORMITY song and lead by notorious standup comedian and singer Alex Agnew. With current and ex-members of bands like A BRAND, BORN FROM PAIN and MEURIS, this eclectic five-piece quickly started to turn heads and playing shows to appreciative crowds all over Belgium and the Netherlands.

Building on groovy riffs, catchy choruses and a charismatic stage presence, DIABLO BLVD offers what made their heroes great within a wide range of influences from the heavy genre (like THE CULT, GUNS ‘N ROSES, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and TYPE O NEGATIVE), classic rock and even blues.

DIABLO BLVD went to the legendary ICP studios with producer Ace Zec to record their 3rd full album and Nuclear Blast debut, “Follow The Deadlights” in collaboration with the American duo Jay Ruston (mix) and Paul Logus (mastering) who have previously been behind the sound of ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR, MEATLOAF and STEEL PANTHER.

DIABLO BLVD
The Antwerp metal band DIABLO BLVD latest album, entitled Builders of Empires came out last year on PIAS and was produced once again by Ace Zec (Customs, The Setup), with Jens Bogren doing the mixing (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Grand Magus). Builders of Empires contain 11 tracks and sounds harder, more dynamic and more epic than any of DIABLO BLVD’s work so far.

Previous work: After their successful demo Scarred & Undefeated in 2007 and their thundering full cd The Greater God in 2009 (PIAS, production: Ace Zec, mix: Oscar Holleman) DIABLO BLVD are ready to take it to the next level.

DIABLO BLVD were founded in 2005. The name is a reference to a song by the band Corrosion of Conformity. Front man Alex Agnew is not short of good company; Andries Beckers and Tim Bekaert gained their experience in music by playing in bands such as Born from Pain and A Brand. Their influences, ranging from Danzig to The Cult and from Guns ‘N Roses to Black Label Society, go to make a perfect match, with lyrics that could easily have been picked up from classic rock and roll and the blues.
