Info for Freedom

Comeback album and first studio album in 11 years from one of the biggest rock bands in the world!

One of the most beloved rock bands in the world, Journey continues to make new music and thrill audiences night after night in sold-out arenas around the world. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, Journey has 25 gold and platinum albums in their discography, including the fifteen million-selling Greatest Hits collection, and total album sales of 80 million around the world. Fifteen epic new original songs, the first studio album since 2011, bringing back the grand scale of the group's greatest moments along with updated and new directions and sounds. Thought for the big stage, it started with humble beginnings. In 2020, when C*vid swept across the globe, founding member Neal Schon was stuck at home like the rest of us.

"There wasn't much to do during the pandemic," he says. "I spent a lot of time in my little studio at home learning how to play keyboards and looping. Some of those ideas ended up as songs. So it kind of came out of nowhere."

Freedom will be the first album of new material to be released since Eclipse, and in addition to longtime keyboardist and main lyricist Jonathan Cain and vocalist Arnel Pineda, another member has been recruited for the upcoming album - bassist Randy Jackson, who played on Journey's 1986 album Raised on Radio. "Freedom" - another milestone in the legend of Journey.
