Info for Pindorama

The Joonas Tuuri Quartet releases their second album 'Pindorama' on September 5, 2025 via Eclipse Music. The music is rhythmic and expressive Brazilian-inspired jazz, and the compositions are Tuuri's own work. The music is centered on beautiful and catchy melodies, captivating rhythm, strong atmospheres, and highly refined ensemble playing and improvisation. On this foundation, Joonas Tuuri Quartet strongly builds its own expression, where sensitive communication between the musicians makes the band sound in a personal way.

The band's debut album 'Dimensions' was released in 2022 via Eclipse Music, and it has received a lot of attention and a huge number of listens on international playlists on Spotify and YouTube. The song November from the album has already collected over four million listens, which is an exceptional number for a jazz artist releasing through an independent record label. It also makes Tuuri's band perhaps the most streamed individual jazz artist in Finland.

Joonas Tuuri, double bass
Ilmari Rönkä, flute
Toomas Keski-Säntti, keyboards
Anssi Tirkkonen, drums

"The lyrical ’Shadows’ brings a rhythmic flavor of Northeast Brazil, the Baião, that adds beautifully to the palette of colors and atmospheres of the album – pay attention to Joonas’ solo (bass), full of intent and personality." – Chico Pinheiro

"Tuuri used his plentiful solo space in a very mature way, respecting in a humble way the atmosphere of each song." – Pentti Ronkanen, SuomiJazz.com
