I’d like to introduce the very first recording of my trio on Cellar Live! I am extremely proud to be accompanied by the supreme talents of Chris Byars on tenor saxophone and Jason Tiemann on drums. We play original music that I have been writing over the past 30 years, mostly contrafacts over classic American standard songs. Being a chordless trio gives us a chance to be free and use counterpoint and rhythm to create our sound and vision. We sincerely hope you enjoy our musical conversations.

Neal Miner Trio
Since early 2024 I have been leading a trio featuring Chris Byars on tenor saxophone and Jason Tiemann on drums. This trio offers an open sound, focusing on counterpoint, rhythm and communication, performing original compositions of mine the past 30+ years. We play monthly at clubs such as Mezzrow and The Django. Our debut recording on Cellar Music will be released on September 5th of this year.
