Info for Straight To It

Straight To It is a fitting title for the Zac Schulze Gang's debut studio album: the trio doesn't mess around with niceties, preferring to play the kind of blues-infused Rock'n'roll that grabs your throat and doesn't let go.

The Zac Schulze Gang & Ruf Records are proud to announce the release of their debut studio album Straight to It on September 26, 2025 via Ruf Records. The title says it all: raw, blues-infused Rock'n'roll with no frills.

Frontman and guitarist Zac Schulze may be a world-class player, but the heart of the band is the trio itself - with brother Ben Schulze on drums and Ant Greenwell on bass. Together they create a huge sound that blends melody and power. Tracks like "The Rocker" and "High Roller" pack a punch, while songs like "Angeline" and "Betterland" show their melodic side.

Formed during the pandemic and inspired by Rory Gallagher, the band quickly earned a reputation as a relentless live act. Playing over 250 shows a year across the UK and Europe, they've shared stages with Samantha Fish, Eddie 9V, and even performed at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival in 2023. Their releases of the EP Made of Three (2023) and Live and Loud (2024) helped them win Best Emerging Blues Band at the UK Blues Awards 2024, followed by Young Artist of the Year in 2025.

Produced by longtime associate Ian Sadler, Straight to It finds the Zac Schulze Gang poised to break out of Britain’s blues scene. They remain dedicated to amplifying tradition—witness “I Won’t Do This Anymore,” a high-octane houserocker graced with greasy harmonica from Nigel Feist—but the record is proof that the trio are hardly revivalists pining for yesteryear: they’re a dynamic, aggressive outfit that exists entirely in the now, making some of the most exciting Rock’n’roll around.

“Armed with upbeat, 70s-ified blues rock with a few enticing twists and a roughened Rory Gallagher-esque edge” - Classic Rock Magazine

The Zac Schulze Gang

The Zac Schulze Gang
Formed in Gillingham (south-east UK) in 2020, The Zac Schulze Gang are an electrifying blues-rock trio built on the playing of front man Zac Schulze, joined by bassist Ant Greenwell and drummer Ben Schulze. The gang create their signature sound by blending rock and blues with influences from punk, funk, country, jazz, soul, metal and pop.

After earning a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the country, they are now touring internationally across the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe and North America. They have toured and shared the bill with artists such as Samantha Fish, Jesse Dayton, Eddie 9V, Nine Below Zero, Aynsley Lister, Band of Friends and The Cinelli Brothers.

The gang have been nominated multiple times in both the 2023 and 2024 UK Blues Awards, winning the UK Blues Emerging Band of the Year award for 2024. They were also invited to play at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival 2023 in Los Angeles and made an appearance at Fairport's Cropredy Convention in 2024 to large acclaim.

With a debut studio album on the horizon in 2025, the Zac Schulze Gang are setting up to be a future powerhouse of their genre.
