Info for Love Vibrations

Trumpeter and Edison Prize winner Teus Nobel releases his EP "Love Vibrations". This album was recorded and played in December 2023 by Nobel himself (trumpet and flugelhorn), Tim Langedijk (guitar) and Thomas Pol (double bass). The Flemish pianist Jef Neve can be heard as a guest soloist.

Nobel says he could never have foreseen that the tour for the album After Hours would be so successful. While the tour initially started with around 25 concerts, the number of concerts soon doubled. What's more, almost all the concerts have been sold out so far.

Through the many concerts, the trio got so used to each other that the need arose to record a new repertoire under the name Love Vibrations. This was done, just like After Hours, in Jef Neve's Blue Keys Studio in Aalter (BE). The latter also agreed to make a guest contribution.

The repertoire for this new EP again consists of jazz standards, but they also recorded an instrumental version of Jimi Hendrix's pop-rock song "Little Wing". Nobel considers this ballad, which was also released by Sting in 1987, to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written. His approach is that of a singer, in the style of the original, but of course also in the style of Chet Baker, who is still a common thread for this trio.
