Info for RAUM (Live)

RAUM is the latest (LIVE) project by Martin Kälberer.

Piano sounds, various instruments from handpan, percussion, vibrandoneon, waterphone to synthesizer and the (partly multiple looped) voice float as it were through the room and take the audience on an acoustic journey, where you can completely immerse yourself in the sound. Supported by Gene Aichner's congenial projections, one finds oneself for two hours in a very own three-dimensional sound space.

Sound in space: Ever since I started making music, I have been fascinated not only by sound itself, but also by its effect, its representation, its perception in space or in certain spaces.

This is one of the reasons why, for almost 30 years, I have been concerned with how I can best record the sounds I hear and thus paint a sound picture as I imagine it. Interestingly enough, the general consumer behaviour when listening to music has developed completely contrary to my endeavour to be able to represent music and sounds as better, more complex and more vividly as possible.

This is because technical development makes it possible to compress music titles more and more and thus make them smaller in order to make them available everywhere.

However, I increasingly find it very regrettable that this often leaves very little of the experience I originally conceived and created, and I do not understand why the possibilities, which do exist, are not used all the more to enjoy music in the best possible quality.
