Info for Mellow Hearts

MISS C-LINE returns with her 4th album “Mellow Hearts” blending her roots in classical music with jazz, Neo-soul vocals to create a contemporary, distinctive sound. Her powerful voice is supported by very melodic and warm compositions — all written, recorded, and produced by herself. As a multi-instrumentalist, MISS C-LINE showcases her background in classical string music, featuring her family performing Violoncello, Viola & Violine on two tracks “Coz it’s Love” and “Infinite Two”. The album, with 12 original compositions, captures her musical and personal growth over the past three years, revealing a more intimate side of the artist. She opens up about struggles with anxiety but also about affection, love and hope — for herself and those close to her.

Born in 1999 in Germany with a Belarusian family background and now living in Basel, MISS C-LINE cites Erykah Badu, Robert Glasper, d’Angelo, Musiq Soulchild and the Roots, on one hand, and classical string music, on the other, as her formative influences. “Growing up with musician parents already introduced me to the possibility to live from music, be it teaching, or be it playing”, she says. The words “mellow” and “soulful” sum up her vocal approach pretty accurately. Another aspect that makes this album different and thus special are the instrumental arrangements. They include nearly two dozen different organic instruments, including viola, violin and violoncello (all played by members of her family), piano, saxes and flute. They suit her subtle vocal delivery like the proverbial silk glove.

"This musical journey is a reflection of my personal growth over the past three years," says Miss C-Line. "I've named this album Mellow Hearts because it reminds me of the honesty and rawness I poured into both the lyrics and the music. Through creating this album, I came to understand what it truly means to be vulnerable in songwriting and producing. I learned to allow myself to express the soft and loving parts of me - parts I wasn't ready to share with the world before. This process taught me to embrace my feelings and emotions, and to connect more deeply through the language of music."
