In Motion explores the many ways music captures movement - through rhythm, dance, the passing of time, and the ever-changing colors of sound. Saxophonist Andreas Mader joins an exceptional ensemble of friends under the direction of Pit Brosius in a vibrant program that reimagines masterpieces by Ibert, Villa-Lobos, Ravel, de Falla, Caroline Shaw and Dubois. New arrangements place the saxophone at the heart of an intimate chamber ensemble, revealing fresh perspectives on familiar works while celebrating the instrument’s remarkable expressive range. Inspired by the idea that “time, like the tide, its motion keeps,” the album unfolds as a journey of energy, elegance and constant transformation. Recorded in the outstanding acoustic of Trifolion Echternach in Luxembourg and captured in high-definition sound by Bert van der Wolf-Oude Avenhuis of Northstar Recording, In Motion combines artistic imagination with exceptional sonic clarity. The result is an album that invites listeners into an immersive musical landscape where classical tradition, rhythmic vitality and contemporary creativity come together in performances of warmth, virtuosity and irresistible momentum.

Andreas Mader
studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Arno Bornkamp, where he also received his bachelor’s degree „cum laude“. Additionally, Andreas had the possibility to study with Claude Delangle at the CNSM de Paris with the Erasmus Programme. He has received tutorship from Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Sven Arne Tepl and Walter van Hauwe.

He is prize-winner of the International AEOLUS-Competition 2015 in Düsseldorf, the Andorra International Saxophone Competition 2016 and won the 1st prize at the Bertold Hummel-Competition in Würzburg in 2017.

As a soloist he has performed with the Düsseldorfer Sinfoniker, the Kracow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden and the Philharmonie Südwestfalen.

Andreas grew up in Jochberg, Tyrol and started his saxophone lessons at the music school of Kitzbühel. Later he attended the preliminary study at the Conservatory Tyrol. At the same time, he collected his first experiences as a Soloist with the chamber orchestra “Innstrumenti” and the Ensemble “Windkraft, Kapelle für neue Musik”.

Pit Brosius
Luxembourgish conductor Pit Brosius is recognised as one of the distinctive musical voices of his generation and is known for passionate, energetic and finely detailed interpretations. In the 2025/26 season he made his debut with the Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est. As Artistic and Music Director of the Orchestre National des Jeunes du Luxembourg, he has been shaping the orchestra’s development for several years.

He has appeared on the concert stage with soloists including Antje Weithaas, Alena Baeva, Johannes Moser, and pianist and entertainer Hyung-ki Joo. Alongside his conducting activities, music outreach plays an important role in his work: through a wide range of concert and educational formats, he aims to make classical music vivid and accessible to a broad audience. Opera also holds a special place in his artistic work. He gained important experience as assistant to the Belgian conductor David Reiland and has been involved in productions at Oper Leipzig, the Opéra de Saint-Étienne, and Opera Zuid. He also has a strong interest in historically informed performance practice, whose insights he integrates into modern concert programmes, while regularly collaborating with ensembles specialising in contemporary music.

Pit Brosius studied orchestral conducting and bassoon at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Conservatorium Maastricht. Alongside his conducting career, he teaches conducting at the Conservatoire du Nord and has served as Assistant Professor of Conducting at the Conservatoire royal de Liège since 2026.
