Info for Eurovision Song Contest Turin 2022

Compilation with all 40 participating songs: The Eurovision Song Contest enters the 66th round. This year Ukraine is the clear favorite, which is not surprising due to the current situation.

Turin will be the venue of the next ESC. This has now been announced by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the broadcasting station RAI. The music show will take place on May 14, 2022 in the PalaOlimpico multi-purpose hall. As usual, the two semi-final shows of the ESC will be shown on Tuesday and Thursday before the final. Turin is thus already the third Italian city to host the music competition. In 1965 the ESC took place in Naples, in 1991 in Rome.

For the upcoming ESC, Turin prevailed over 16 other cities. Among others, Trieste, Rome, Florence, Rimini, Milan and Bologna had also applied. In the end, there were five cities left on the shortlist. Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the ESC, calls Turin the "perfect city" to host the event. He said it had already been seen at the 2006 Winter Olympics that the hall met all the requirements. "We are very impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the city of Turin, which will welcome thousands of fans next May."

RAI CEO Carlo Fuortes said, "We are delighted that Turin will host the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Thanks to Måneskin's victory, the contest returns to Italy after 31 years, to a city that has all the qualities to host such a prestigious event." The decision, made together with the EBU, was not easy given the high level of the competing cities, Fuortes said.
