the acclaimed Canadian indie rock band, was formed in 1998 in Toronto by Emily Haines and James Shaw. Initially known as “Mainstream,” the duo quickly evolved into a full band, solidifying their presence in the music scene. Their debut album, *Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?*, released in 2003, showcased their unique blend of genres and received critical acclaim, setting the stage for their future successes.
In 2005, Metric released *Live It Out*, which was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize and the Juno Awards, marking a significant milestone in their career.
