Pérez, Fumero, Arnedo Trio feat. Lucia Fumero
Biography Pérez, Fumero, Arnedo Trio feat. Lucia Fumero
Pérez, Fumero, Arnedo Trio and Lucia Fumero
So that we can get to know each other, the surnames in the project correspond, as you may have guessed, to guitarist Dani Pérez, double bassist Horacio Fumero and drummer Guillem Arnedo, with pianist Lucía Fumero as a special guest on some tracks.
Horacio Fumero
It is curious how Horacio Fumero, with a long career accompanying many essential figures in international jazz, did not record very often. I believe that the only album released under his name was the wonderful Vuelos (Blue Art, 2013), some of whose birds can be found on this album. There is also another album, a duet with Jordi Bonell. But since his daughter Lucía entered the scene, she has given him a wonderful boost.
The UnderPool label already set itself a challenge by releasing a solo double bass album, Solo Bass Songs (2024), so that Fumero could express himself without restraint.
Dani Pérez
another Argentinean, has been here for a long time, fortunately for us. UnderPool also recorded Resumen (2016) and Contrafacts (2021) for him. And the third man, Guillem Arnedo, born in Barcelona, had already shared a trio with Fumero and none other than pianist Michael Kanan. In addition, you are sure to be familiar with his work with singer Celeste Alías, among other projects.
Lucía Fumero
has her own trio with Martín Leiton and Juan R. Berbín, as well as many other collaborations.
Let's move on to the songs, three compositions by Horacio Fumero, which were on the fabulous ‘Vuelos’ or on the album with his daughter ‘Los Fumeros’ Seed Music, 2023. These are ‘Torcacita’, ‘Carancho’ with a groundbreaking guitar that completely modifies the previous versions, and ‘Tordo’ birds from his country, which bring us beautiful images of freedom, with Pérez's guitar ideal for immersing us in this ornithological world. And the unhurried double bass.
