Taylor Abrahamse
Biography Taylor Abrahamse
Taylor Abrahamse
A one-of-a-kind singer songwriter, fans have described him as ‘The Canadian Paul Simon’ and Grammy-winning producer Chris Birkett says: “Taylor Abrahamse has all the talent of some of the worlds mega artists like Michael Jackson, Prince and Jon Anderson (of Yes). His vocal range is almost off the audio scale. Seeing him perform is an overwhelming experience."
After seeing Taylor put on a spontaneous performance at Canadian Music Week, he was by legendary Grammy-winning producer and engineer Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Carly Simon, David Bowie, Michelle Branch & many more), who wanted to produce & develop him.
With the album available in spring 2020, Eddie describes Taylor as ‘A true artist, and songwriting genius’. His debut album has a musical backdrop that is true to songwriting classics of the 20th century, yet feels entirely fresh – dealing with his personal journey as a millennial with love, depression, bullying, and gender fluidity.
Taylor has released various independent 'demo' records and EPs since a very early age, available as part of his 'Abravault' section of his website, which collects thousands of creative pieces and ideas documented over his life. For many years, he also ran songwriting workshops with songwriter Signe Miranda, and contributed a section to a Amazon bestselling book on songwriting, 'The Song Creation Formula'.
He has written musicals, and music for other artists & television series seen worldwide, including the opening & closing themes for ‘Fangbone!’ (Disney XD), and songs for Danny Fernandes, Kalya Ramu & Max Parker. He also wrote, produced, edited, and performed songs for ‘Super Plant Dolan’ – garnering the Youtube channel over 20 million views. He has been hired by major companies to write, perform, and produce music for their properties, including DHX, Treehouse, Boat Rocker & Nelvana.
