Die Jazz-Sängerin und Singer-Songwriterin Melody Gardot veröffentlicht ihr erstes Live-Album. Anderthalb Jahre nach ihrem jüngsten Studio-Oeuvre "Currency of Men" und zehn Jahre nach Gardots beeindruckendem Albumdebüt "Worrisome Heart" erscheint "Live in Europe" bei Decca als Doppel-Album.

Die Aufnahmen stammen von Auftritten der Echo-Preisträgerin in Städten wie Wien, Lissabon, Barcelona, Amsterdam und Frankfurt, mitgeschnitten wurde zwischen 2012 und 2016, enthalten sind ihre größten Hits und besten Songs, darunter "Baby I'm A Fool", "My One And Only Thrill", "Les Etoiles" und "March For Mingus". Begleitet wird die in Philadelphia geborene Künstlerin von ihrer Tour-Band mit Charles Staab (Schlagzeug), Irwin Hall (Saxofon) und dem Bassisten Sami Minaie.

Gardot stellte persönlich die Stücke von "Live In Europe" zusammen und betont dort ihre Verbundenheit mit ihrem europäischen Publikum, insbesondere in Deutschland, wo sich ihr zweites, für mehrere Grammys nominiertes Album "My One and Only Thrill" hunderttausendfach verkauft hat.

Direkt nach ihren Studio-Auftritten bei den aktuell erschienenen Alben "Dalida by Ibrahim Maalouf" und "Jazz Loves Disney 2" erfüllt sich die Anfang-30-Jährige nun einen persönlichen Herzenswunsch. Ihr erstes Live-Album widmet sie dem "Feeling, der Nostalgie und der Erinnerung". Es gehe ihr hier nicht um "Best-Of, Perfektion, Performance und das Ego", sagte die Sängerin, Pianistin und Gitarristin. "Es geht darum, was auf einem Konzert passiert, wo nur wirklich eines zählt: das Herz. Dieses Album trägt mein Herz, und die Liebe der vielen Menschen, die uns auf unserem Weg unterstützt haben." The Beginning
Every artist has a story. Melody's is at the heart of her music. When she was 19, Melody was hit by a car. During her recovery she used music as a form of therapy, even recording and releasing tracks while still in the hospital. Once out, she started playing around Philadelphia. Before long Universal Records signed her. Her first full-length album, Worrisome Heart, displayed her gift for transforming the traditions of jazz and blues with her intimate and personal sound. It also set a soulful artist with a small but strong following onto the world stage.

After the critical acclaim that met her debut Melody was ready. Ready to work with Grammy-winning producer Larry Klein to create an album that would capture the subtleties of a live performance in the studio.
