The 11th studio album from Neil Young, Re-ac-tor was released in 1981 and features Crazy Horse. The album combines the electric guitar focus with Crazy Horse with the 1980s new wave rhythms. The song "Shots" was the favorite of the album by critics.
Critical reception to the album was generally poor except for the accolades accorded to the album closer "Shots." The album marked the first use by Young of the Synclavier which would be featured heavily on several of his later albums: Trans (1982) and Landing on Water (1986).

geboren am 12. November 1945 in Toronto, ist Musiker, Singer-Songwriter und Filmemacher und gilt als eine der einflussreichsten Persönlichkeiten der Rockmusik. Er begann seine Karriere in den 1960er-Jahren mit der Band Buffalo Springfield, trat später mit der Band Crazy Horse, aber auch solo und mit anderen Künstler*innen auf. Sein unverwechselbarer Stil verbindet Folk, Rock, Country und Grunge. Alben wie After the Gold Rush (1970) und Harvest (1972) mit dem Klassiker »Heart of Gold« zählen zu den Meilensteinen seiner Diskographie. Neben seiner Musik ist Neil Young auch für sein gesellschaftliches Engagement bekannt. Seit 2020 besitzt er die US-amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft, lebt aber weiterhin teils in Kanada.
