Info for Electro Sold Out

His style is soul-blues-jazz-pop-groove and his lyrics are magical and dreamy, delivered with a sense of urgency. Charlie Smyles plays the piano and sings.

The enigmatic Mr. Charlie 'Smyles' Williams is the Musical Director of 'The Cabaret Antique Company' (www.cabaretantique.com.au). A producer, manager, lighting designer, event organiser and promoter… there is almost no element of music production that Charlie has not been involved in. He is also a captivating performer, having the last three years touring with various bands along the east Australian coast (including 'Squid Squad') and wooing audiences with his abilities as a singer, songwriter and pianist. Couple this with his theatre training at the University of New England, and jazz pianist training in Melbourne, Charlie 'Smyles' Williams is the ultimate man of cabaret. Welcome to his ongoing side project.

Charlie Smyles is a singer and a veteran of the keyboard. He is based in Melbourne, Australia.

Recordings: As a recording artist, Charlie produces a smorgasbord of genres including progressive rock, Chicago blues and disco junk.

He is currently working on his second album, Electro Sold Out. He released his first album Charlie Smyles Vs Captain Sophie in 2010.

Live shows: As a solo performer Charlie smiles behind the piano, singing from his heart. His fingers glide over the keys in the fashion of jazz and blues. You can find him playing around the smaller bars of inner Melbourne's Northcote and Brunswick.

Charlie is also committed to two bands that tour regionally and nationally, and gig regularly around Melbourne: Good Suns (70s psychedelic rock) and Squid Squad (Hip Hop Prog Step). Be sure to check these bands out, they are truly good fun.

Charlie has performed at some of Australia's best festivals and venues. Festivals include St Kilda Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival and Renaissance Festival. He has also played at Melbourne venues The Espy, The Hi-Fi bar, and The Evelyn, and Byron Bay's Buddha Bar.

This album contains no booklet.
