Little Caesar
Biographie Little Caesar
Ron Young aka Little Caesar
People were scratching their heads when Little Caesar first crashed onto the Los Angeles rock scene of the 1980's. With it's soulful, blues-rock sound, greasy, + no frills image. The group was a far cry from the pretty boy pop metal bands of the Sunset Strip. The band's original line-up, Ron Young (vocals), Loren Molinare (Guitar), Apache, (Guitar), Fidel Paniagua (Bass) and Tom Morris (Drums). The band was managed by Jimmy Iovine and signed to Geffen Records with Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue), producing it's eponymous debut album.
Little Caesar’s 1990 release was a solid collection of R&B-influenced hard rock in the vein of 70's giants like Free, Humble Pie and The Faces. The album garnered worldwide acceptance and positive feedback from the rock press. The record included a ballsy remake of Aretha' Franklin's classic "Chain of Fools" which broke the Billboard Top 100 and received major airplay both on rock radio and MTV. During this time Little Caesar toured extensively, opening for such legendary acts as Iggy Pop, Kiss, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Social Distortion.
1992 would bring the bands second full-length album, "Influence" which introduced Earl Slick (John Lennon, David Bowie, Ian Hunter) to the fold replacing Apache on guitar. Little Caesar completed its first European tour after the record's release, drawing rave reviews and sold out shows across multiple countries. Including a headlining performance at the famous Marquee Club in London.
After a nine-year hiatus, the group reformed and never looked back. The band continued to build upon its legacy, releasing two studio albums, "Redemption" (Rock Candy Records) and "American Dream" (Unison Music). With multiple European tours, including a 2014 barn-burning performance at the Download Festival in Donnington, England.
In 2016 Bass player Pharaoh Barrett (The Four Horseman) joined founding members Ron Young (Vocals), Tom Morris (Drums) and Loren Molinare (Guitar) and they released a double live CD titled "Brutally Honest" which authentically captured the bands live stage energy.
In 2018, Little Caesar hit the road again, bringing its sonic, blues attack to the US, UK and Europe. This all culminated in the Bruce Witkin produced "EIGHT" LP on Golden Robot records, and the addition of guitarist Mark Tremalgia, (Bang Tango, Chambers Brothers, Brothers Johnston). The single/video "Time Enough for That" along with shows in the UK, Germany, Belgium, France, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the Czech Republic.
With Covid stopping the world in 2020/21 Little Caesar took advantage of online streaming performances with a Boxing Day Live Stream of the band's first LP Co-Sponsored with Blackstar Amps + Bravewords Magazine. Also, a Monsters of Rock Live Stream from 3rd Encore Studios in Los Angeles.
After the wave of Covid shut the world down, Little Caesar was excited and grateful to get back to doing what they do best: Making the music driven by their love for each other and the fans they love to make it for. They came back to Europe to tour several times during the ebb and flow of lockdowns and restrictive protocols….and lived to tell the tales.
Little Caesar is excited to announce they will be supporting their friends “Tyketto” for a tour of the UK. It will encompass 9 shows in various cities and the band looks forward to the raucous sonic frivolities that always ensue with our friends and family in the UK.
