Living wildly between the lines of Americana and rock and roll, gritty Big Loud Texas band The Droptines today announce the release of their full-length label debut "Drought Flower".

“Our album Drought Flower is the culmination of a lot of hard work from the guys and me,” shares frontman Conner Arthur. “It will be our first big release since being signed to Big Loud Texas and we’re all very excited.”

The 11-track project features ethereal singer-songwriter Zandi Holup (“A Town Near You”) and accomplished artist Sarah Jarosz (“Mamaw”). Each song was solo written by frontman Conner Arthur, except for a cover of Mike McClure Band’s “Calling All Cars” and The Magnetic Fields’ “Grand Canyon.” Honoring their Texas roots, Drought Flower was recorded at Aryln Studios with trusted collaborators GRAMMY® Award winners Jon Randall, Jacob Sciba and Taylor Tatsch.

The album features previously released “Take Too Much,” that Billboard characterized as “a primal fusion of country, Americana, blues and rock,” fan favorite “Snowed In,” and “Tombstone” that Holler and Whiskey Riff lauded as a song to know.

Taking their rollicking sound and irreverent lyrics on tour across the country in their repurposed silver school bus-turned-tour bus further cements their beatnik-like lifestyle and ethos. True road warriors, the Drought Flower Tour takes the band throughout the Lone Star State and includes stops in Lexington, Ky., Washington, D.C., New York City and more. The tour follows dates sharing the stage with Whiskey Myers and Dwight Yoakam.

Austin-based band The Droptines live wildly between the lines of Americana and rock and roll – what they dub alternative Americana. Signed to Big Loud Texas, the band sets their first full-length project with the label, Drought Flower, for April 3. Their artistry is defined by lead singer Conner Arthur’s vocal growl and reminiscent of The Droptines’ most pointed influences like rock heroes Tom Petty and James McMurty. Working with lauded producer and Big Loud Texas co-founder and president of A&R Jon Randall, the gritty band’s new music is entrenched in a southern vernacular – writing and performing the songs they want to hear most. Defined by a “beatnik-like itinerary of a lost soul’s activity” (Saving Country Music), The Droptines set out on their headlining Drought Flower Tour beginning in April.
