Info zu Virago
The sophomore album from the hailed Krissy Mary!
Her critically acclaimed debut album ”Feme Sole” from 2022 was an immediate success, and we are immensely proud to be a part of the journey towards this beautiful masterpiece, from one of the most vital artists from the Norwegian alternative scene. And alternative as she might be, her feet are placed dead in the middle of the thrieving Norwegian Americana/folk scene - but also touching more on darker pop sides nodding towards artists such as Weyes Blood and Ane Brun. The singer-songwriter, artist and multi-instrumentalist is for most known as a spirited collaborator on the Norwegian music scene and the band The Secret Sound Of Dreamwalkers as well as the experimental vocal ambient of The Secret Sound.
Her new tracks display the force of Krissy Mary’s talents as a songwriter and storyteller. Her lyrics often concern stories of otherness and loneliness. The upcoming album is recorded and co-produced by Anders Møller (Ulver, Kåre & the Cavemen, Euroboys, Turboneger, Gluecifer) in Subsonic Society, Oslo, Norway, and mastered by Lasse Marhaug.

Kristine Marie Aasvang
(b. 1987) has been working as a composer of sound art, singer-songwriter and backup singer for several bands on the Norwegian underground music scene since 2007. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Bergen Academy of Arts and Design and the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, where she specialized in the voice as an artistic expression. Myths and ancient music traditions from various indigenous cultures of Greenland, North America and The Cap of the North are recurring themes in her work, examining ways in which dreams, symbols and human relations merge. For Aasvang this is a way of explaining and understanding the world.
«I believe that an artistic experience can help develop our brain, speech and senses in relation to the world. With art we can connect with our subconscious and suppressed emotions, as well as heighten our awareness as sentient beings.»
