Kollage was created in 2000 by Archie Alleyne and Doug Richardson to preserve the era of hard-bop and its importance to the creative development of jazz composition. Several band member changes have been made since its original inception and have not impacted its concept of the hard-bop era. This sextet performs at Canadian jazz festivals, at Toronto’s jazz venues and at private functions. Kollage’s success is due to the cohesion and energy projected during performances.
