Sir Arthur Bliss steuerte mit Kenilworth und den Belmont-Variationen zwei Grundpfeiler des Brass-Band-Repertoires bei, deren anhaltender Erfolg Arrangeure dazu inspirierte, sich seinen anderen Kompositionen zuzuwenden, zum Beispiel Eric Ball und Four Dances aus dem Ballett Checkmate oder Phillip Littlemores Suite aus der Filmmusik zu Things to Come. Drei neue Arrangements wurden speziell für dieses Album erstellt: Robert Childs' Suite aus dem Ballett Adam Zero und Michael Halstensons Arrangements von Music from the Royal Palaces und Welcome the Queen. Insgesamt spiegelt dieses Programm die Essenz von Bliss' Kompositionsstil wider: die inhärente Dramatik seiner Partituren für Film, Ballett und Fernsehen und sein Gespür für das Zeremonielle, insbesondere im Zusammenhang mit seiner Position als Master of the Queen's Music. Die Black Dyke Band, deren ununterbrochene Geschichte bis ins Jahr 1855 zurückreicht, ist mit einer Diskografie von mehr als 350 Aufnahmen die am häufigsten aufgenommene Kapelle der Welt. Sie ist auch die erfolgreichste Wettbewerbsband der Welt, die dreizehnmal die Europameisterschaft, dreißigmal die British Open und vierundzwanzigmal die nationalen Meisterschaften Großbritanniens gewonnen hat. Im Jahr 2023 ernannten sie den Dirigenten John Wilson zu ihrem Ehrenpräsidenten.
