At the early age of 22, Yan Levionnois is already regarded as one of the greatest cello players of his generation. In 2011, he was nominated at the Victoires de la Musique (Victory of Music in France) for the “Instrumental Revelation” category. Beside the masterpieces of Bach, very few have been recorded for the cello on an album. Yan Levionnois is very concerned with contemporary music and has chosen masterpieces from the 20th and 21st centuries for his album.
This record reflects Yan Levionnois’ personality – a messenger of the past century willing to discover new horizons. This attempt is symbolized by the “Dolmen” of which the purpose is to facilitate the crossing between two worlds. Krystov Maratka has composed “Dolmen” for Yan. This recording is a worldwide masterpiece.
