Info zu The Lifetime Of Peace & Love Tribute Concert (Benefiting The David Lynch Foundation)

Ringo Starr was honored at a celebration hosted by the David Lynch Foundation and presented with a 'Lifetime of Peace & Love Award,' which the acclaimed director himself awarded the legendary drummer.

In tribute, a star-studded concert was held including Ben Harper, Joe Walsh, Bettye LaVette, and others, with performances 'covering the timeless songs of Starr's vast, celebrated catalogue.' (Let us never forget who wrote 'Octopus's Garden!')

Communion Records will release the recordings from the event as Ringo Starr: The Lifetime of Peace and Love Tribute Concert - Benefiting the David Lynch Foundation, and all proceeds will go to benefit the David Lynch Foundation, 'whose mission is to help bring Transcendental Meditation to at-risk populations across the world.' (A notion currently being tested in some schools of the world, perhaps inspired by the Dalai Lama's idea that 'if every 8-year-old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.')

The album is mixed by Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Bryan Adams), and songs were performed with a house band 'that included Don Was, who also served as the evening's musical director, Peter Frampton, Kenny Aronoff, Steve Lukather, and Benmont Tench.'
