Mit MOVIE veröffentlicht der französische Pianist Sofiane Pamart sein viertes Soloalbum und setzt seine international erfolgreiche Reihe nach PLANET, LETTER und NOCHE fort. Das Album ist als eigenständiges, cineastisch konzipiertes Werk angelegt und versteht sich als vom Künstler selbst vertonter „Film“.

Die Veröffentlichung umfasst 20 Kompositionen, die stilistisch zwischen moderner Klassik, Neo-Klassik und Filmmusik angesiedelt sind. Für die Produktion arbeitete Pamart mit dem Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (über 70 Musiker:innen) sowie einem 24-köpfigen Chor zusammen, beide etabliert im Bereich internationaler Filmmusikproduktionen.

Zusätzlich wirken 14 internationale Gastkünstler:innen an dem Album mit. Die Komposition entstand in Kalifornien, die Aufnahmen erfolgten in mehreren Studios, darunter Los Angeles, New York, Paris, London und Prag.

MOVIE gilt als bislang umfangreichstes und ambitioniertestes Projekt in der Diskografie von Sofiane Pamart und erweitert seinen Klang um orchestrale und chorale Elemente.

Mein ganzes Leben erscheint mir heute wie ein Film. Kindheitsträume, naiv und grenzenlos. Die Prüfungen. Die Begegnungen. Der Aufstieg. Nächte in Los Angeles, mit Blick auf die schlafende Stadt. Proben in Prag mit dem Opernchor. Die siebzig Orchestermusiker, die meinen Melodien eine Dimension verliehen, von der ich nur geträumt hatte. All das vereint sich in diesen zwanzig Titeln.

Das Cover ist ein Foto aus meiner Kindheit. Es wurde von meinem Vater mit einer seiner Filmkameras aufgenommen. Wer meinen letzten Brief gelesen hat, wird das verstehen. Dieses Bild stammt aus seinen Alben, aus jenem Schrank, in dem er geduldig aufbewahrte, was das Leben zu löschen drohte. Heute wird dieses Foto zum Cover des bislang ambitioniertesten Albums meiner Karriere.

Dieses Album wurde in Los Angeles komponiert und in sechs Städten und acht Studios aufgenommen. Der Mix stammt von Shinji Hashimoto und Renaud Héritier. Das Mastering wurde Matt Colton, dem Grammy-Preisträger, in den Metropolis Studios in London anvertraut. Zwei Jahre Arbeit. Von der ersten Note, die bei Sonnenaufgang in Kalifornien gespielt wurde, bis zur letzten Session im Rudolfinum in Prag.
