The Queen's Six is a six-part, male voice a capella ensemble based in Windsor Castle, United Kingdom, living and working within the Castle walls. Drawn from the ranks of the Choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, they keep a busy schedule of concert and recording engagements. Their repertoire spans sacred and secular music from the Middle Ages to the present day.

With Lo, how a rose e'er blooming, The Queen’s Six release their third album on the Resonus label with a scintillating and varied programme of music for Christmas.

Both modern and traditional carols feature alongside a selection of lighter and contemplative evocations of the festive season, with music from composers as diverse as William Byrd, Henry VII, Kenneth Leighton, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Richard Rodney Bennett & Thomas Hewitt Jones.

The Queen’s Six
„The Queen’s Six“ zählt mit zu den weltweit renommiertesten, klassischen A-Cappella-Ensembles und werden international mit frenetischem Applaus gefeiert. Die sechs Profi-Sänger leben als „Lay Clerks“ innerhalb der Mauern von Windsor Castle, dem Wochenendsitz der Queen Elizabeth II., wo sie in der St George’s Chapel des königlichen Anwesens die nahezu täglichen Evensongs (Abendmusiken) und Services (Gottesdienste) besingen. Sie musizieren regelmäßig für die Royal Family – sowohl bei privaten Anlässen als auch bei staatlichen Empfängen. Erst kürzlich konnte man die Herren vor etwa 2 Milliarden Menschen zur royal wedding von Meghan und Harry live in der BBC erleben. Ein außergewöhnliches Privileg, das höchste musikalische Qualitätsstandards voraussetzt.

Gegründet wurde das Ensemble 2008 aus Anlass des 450. Krönungs- jubiläums von Queen Elizabeth I. „The Queen ́s Six“ performen im Rahmen der profiliertesten nationalen und internationalen Vokalensembles (Tenebrae, Polyphony, the BBC Singers, the Cardinall ́s Musick, Collegium Vocale Gent, the Gabrieli Consort, EXAUDI, the King’s Consort, the Tallis Scholars und the Sixteen). Ihr Debut-Album „Music of the Realm“ wurde vom renommierten Guardian mit 4 von 5 Sternen gekürt. Mit ihren faszinierenden Darbietungen und Programmideen von Werken der Renaissance bis hin zum modernen Pop-Arrangement wissen die royalen Sänger ihr Publikum zu begeistern!
