Eine historische Sammlung: Jimi-Hendrix-Fans aufgepasst: Mit »Songs For Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts« erscheint 2019 eine besondere Kollektion von Livemitschnitten der Rocklegende.
»Songs For Groovy Children« versammelt alle vier Debütkonzerte von Jimi Hendrix’ Band Of Gypsys, bestehend aus Hendrix, Billy Cox am Bass und Electric Flag-Schlagzeuger Buddy Miles. Die Shows wurden am Silvesterabend 1969 und am Neujahrstag 1970 im Fillmore East in New York professionell aufgenommen.
Insgesamt warten 43 Tracks auf fünf Alben, die teilweise nie im Handel erschienen sind. Das Audiomaterial wurde von Eddie Kramer neu abgemischt und der Reihe nach ohne Änderungen wiederhergestellt.
