Um die Geschichte des neuen Hardline-Studioalbums ‚Shout‘ vollständig zu erzählen, darf ein Verweis auf ihren 1992er Klassiker ‚Double Eclipse‘ nicht fehlen. Seinerzeit wurde die einzigartige künstlerische DNA dieser fabelhaften Hardrock-Formation erschaffen und gleich mit dem ersten Entwurf nahezu perfektioniert. Seither haben Hardline sechs weitere Studioscheiben veröffentlicht, allesamt Höhepunkte dieses Genres. Mit ‚Shout‘ knüpft die Gruppe um den amerikanischen Sänger Johnny Gioeli (Axel Rudi Pell, Crush 40) und seine italienischen Kollegen, Keyboarder Alessandro Del Vecchio, Gitarrist Luca Princiotta, Bassistin Anna Portalupi und Schlagzeuger Marco Di Salvia, nun so treffsicher wie nie zuvor an ihr 92er Meisterwerk an. „Auf der aktuellen Scheibe findet man die für uns typischen Refrains und das klassische Songwriting von ‚Double Eclipse‘, allerdings mit einer zeitgemäßen Produktion sowie aktuellem Sound. "Es ist erfreulich, dass Johnny Gioeli neben seiner Tätigkeit bei Axel Rudi Pell noch Zeit für seine eigene Band Hardline findet. Fast zwangsläufig ergeben sich Parallelen, da beide Ansätze in ähnlichen Gewässern fischen, wo sich nur der Schwerpunkt unterscheidet. Ähnlich wie bei Axel Rudi Pell liefert auch Hardline mit dem aktuellen Output Shout alles andere als ein schlechtes Album. Gut konzipierte Rockmusik zwischen kernigem Hardrock und balladeskem AOR gibt es auf die Ohren, immer eingängig und melodiös. Die Fanbase von Hardline bzw. Johnny Gioeli wird die neue Platte vollauf zufriedenstellen. Die Protagonisten liefern die zu erwartenden Trademarks und lassen Experimente außen vor. Womit sich der Kreis schließt und wir wieder bei Axel Rudi Pell sind. Natürlich haben Hardline- oder Axel-Rudi-Pell-LPs ihre Qualität, sind aber in großen Teilen vorhersehbar, sodass es mehr von Omas Kuchen gibt, der zwar jedes Jahr zu Ostern gut schmeckt, sich am Ende halt doch wiederholt. Die-Hard-Fans können bedenkenlos zugreifen. Wer etwas mehr Innovation benötigt, findet bei jungen, aufstrebenden Bands interessanteres Material." (time-for-metal.eu)

is an American rock band that was formed in 1992. Known for their blend of hard rock and melodic metal, they initially gained attention with their debut album Double Eclipse in 1992. The band’s original lineup featured powerhouse vocalist Johnny Gioeli, guitarist Neal Schon (from Journey), and drummer Deen Castronovo (also from Journey).
