Auf diesem Album präsentiert Florian Krumpöck zwei wegweisende Werke Robert Schumanns - die "Fantasiestücke" op. 12 und die "Sinfonischen Etüden" op. 13 -, die beide eng mit seiner großen Liebe und späteren Ehefrau Clara Wieck verbunden sind. Der Titel des Albums, "Zwischen Eusebius und Florestan", spielt auf die Alter Egos an, auf die Schumann in dieser Zeit häufig zurückgriff: gegensätzliche Persönlichkeiten, die sein Werk als Musikkritiker und Komponist tiefgreifend beeinflussten. Diese Aufnahme der "Sinfonischen Etüden" enthält fünf posthum veröffentlichte Variationen, wobei das Finale aus Schumanns überarbeiteter Fassung von 1852 stammt.
