Info zu Satanic Rites of The Wildhearts
The Wildhearts return in 2025 with a brand new album. Titled ‘Satanic Rites of the Wildhearts’ produced / mixed by Jim Pinder and Carl Bown (Sleep Token / Bullet For My Valentine / While She Sleeps) the record is conceived as a belated follow-up to the classic debut, ‘Earth vs The Wildhearts’. These are songs of defiance and hope, of ragged glory, of true heart-on-sleeve emotion; songs that sound like no-one else on this planet (or the explored parts of space) – all of which holds true for the new album, the band’s first for Snakefarm…. Lead single / video, ‘Failure Is The Mother Of Success’, sums up the album – the 11th since ‘Earth vs…’ – via a spectacular eight minute lap taking in all manner of twists and turns, and the message here is plain, forged through sharp-end experience… The single 'I'll Be Your Monster' features Shining / Emperor member Jorgen Munkeby as a guest saxophonist.
"Kicking in with a monstrous riff Eventually seems like a straight ahead shouty mosher, until it’s not, it’s a totally Wildhearts chorus then it drifts off into a dreamy haze. This multi layered approach to songwriting is evident throughout this album. It’s a highly technical sounding record with guitarist Ben Marsden thoroughly making his mark in a way, those that know how talented he is, hoped he would. This is a place for Ginger to get a lot off his chest too it would seem, from the vitriolic one-two of Kunse and Maintain Radio Silence to I’ll Be Your Monster, Ginger faces subjects head on with zero compromise. Parts of this album feel almost rock opera and timelessly British it’s got an almost theatrical feel throughout, with Ginger occasionally breaking the fourth walk to talk directly to the listener. The rhythm section of former Cardiacs guitarist Jon Poole on bass and Pontus Snibb (it says here) on drums, power this collection relentlessly and there’s a huge amount of experience on display. The production is hefty and crystal clear and the addition of Carol Hodge on guest vocals brings her awesome sparkle. Closer Failure Is The Mother Of Success signs off this multicolored explosion of a record with the refrain, “You took a lot of knocks to get where you are today “ and I wonder if that’s meant for us or for them. This is an excellent album full stop and definitely more than worthy of a full blast airing from your speakers." (George Miller, devolutionmagazine.co.uk)

For nearly thirty years, The Wildhearts have been a behemoth of the British rock and alternative scene. Releasing classic albums such as their esteemed début, Earth Vs (voted number one album of the year in Kerrang! Back in 1993, and number 20 in the best rock albums of all time in a Kerrang! Special in 2006), through to 2007’s self titled record (10/10 Rocksound, 5/5 The Sun) their musical output and legendary live shows have been second to none.
Although the 90’s saw the band covered like a living soap opera in the press with tales of sex, drugs, bust ups, fights (both with labels and themselves), splits, more drugs and a lot more controversy (one such incident including entering and then proceeding to trash the Kerrang! Offices!), the recent years have seen the band more focused than ever before and firing on all cylinders.
2016 saw The Wildhearts, release their latest masterpiece Never Outdrunk, Never Outsung – PHUQ Live on Round Records.
The live album was recorded when the band reunited in September 2015 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their most commercially successful album PHUQ and Never Outdrunk, Never Outsung contains the full original album track listing.
“P.H.U.Q.” (pronounced in obvious fashion!) originally released in May 1995, crashed into the UK Top Ten Album Chart at number 6. It spawned two Top 40 hit singles, “I Wanna Go Where The People Go” and “Just In Lust”, which reached numbers 16 and 28 respectively.
As well as brilliant new music the bands incendiary live performances over the last few years have seen the band’s popularity hit new heights as The Wildhearts continue to cement their reputation and legacy as one of the best bands the UK have ever produced.
With the doubters once again proved wrong, The Wildhearts are not only set to record new music but are hitting the road in 2018 as part of a legendary Britrock package with both Terrorvision and Reef.
