As a precursor to their 11th band anniversary in 2018, Carolin No released this completely acoustic album in 2017. You & I is a kind of quiet best-of, as always self-produced, as always peppered with surprises, and as always stylistically unclassifiable. 11 years of Carolin No is an occasion to pause, marvel, and look back on a singer-songwriter career that is nothing to be proud of. One is tempted to count that the two exceptional musicians Carolin and Andreas Obieglo have composed and produced eleven albums and played hundreds of concerts at home and abroad in these eleven years, and have also performed and collaborated with such diverse but all great artists as Suzanne Vega, Konstantin Wecker, Axel Prahl, David Knopfler (Dire Straits), John Helliwell (Supertramp), and Pippo Pollina. One could list all the awards they've won or the accolades their albums have received. One would also like to quote the enthusiastic press reviews from Stern or Kulturspiegel, or the hymns of praise from the specialist press, which see the two at the absolute top level (Musikwoche) or as audiophile greats (Stereoplay). All of this would sound fantastic and could be a really strong advertising copy for the anniversary. But it would only be half the truth... Because Carolin and Andreas are distinguished on stage and in life precisely by their authenticity and straightforwardness, one shouldn't ignore what defines this (married) musician couple above all else: that they have been fighting like David against Goliath in the merciless music business for eleven years; that they have successfully asserted themselves for eleven years and have not let themselves be bent; that they live their music and sing about life, and as a result are so incredibly honest, emotional, and real on stage and in their songs. And that it never occurs to the duo to rest on their laurels. The two multi-instrumentalists, whose voices touch hearts, are brimming with ideas and can't wait to fill the next eleven years with their very special, unmistakable music. hinter dem namen carolin no stehen die beiden miteinander verheirateten musiker carolin und andreas obieglo, die nach stationen in berlin und den usa heute fernab der metropolen in der nähe von würzburg leben.

Die musik von carolin no ist geprägt von der unverwechselbaren kristallklaren und dennoch samtig-warmen stimme von carolin obieglo, der virtuosität des multiinstrumentalisten andreas obieglo und den außergewöhnlichen kompositionen und sensiblen arrangements der beiden vollblutmusiker, die sich in keine schublade sortieren lassen.

Ihr stil orientiert sich richtung singer/songwriter und zeigt außerdem einflüsse aus electro, jazz, blues und country. das duo spielt facettenreich: elektronische soundscapes treffen auf akustische slide-gitarren, sphärische texturen auf konkrete beats. minimalistisch anmutende songs stehen neben satten arrangements mit blues- und gospelanklägen. eleganz paart sich mit sperrigem, melancholie mit lebensfreude und aus jedem ton schimmert die liebe zur musik.
