Info for Summer Is Gone

Multiplatinum, soul-infused, singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini releases his third album, "Summer Is Gone". This news swiftly follows last week’s unveiling of lead single C’est la Vie. Available in standard and 13-track deluxe editions, Summer Is Gone is produced by Martin Terefe (Shawn Mendes, Mike Posner, James Blunt, James Morrison) and follows Bazini’s 2014 smash Where I Belong, which was the biggest-selling Canadian album of that year and also earned Bazini his fourth JUNO nomination, for Album of the Year.

Bazini remains true to his roots on this new collection, drawing deep soul inspiration from both the timeless legends and contemporary classics while also continuing to honour the tradition of having musicians collaborating together live in the studio for recording and not turning to programming for ‘perfection.’ For Summer Is Gone, Bazini has for the first time collaborated with co-writers on his material, working in Los Angeles, Nashville, and London - the prestigious list includes Terefe, Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, One Direction), Samuel Dixon (Adele, SIA), Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, James Bay), EG White (Florence and the Machine, Adele), and country sensation Chris Stapleton.

“I got a lot from working with co-writers, I even discovered more of my own voice in the process,” counter-intuitive as that might sound, Bazini elaborates: “I was challenged to try new things, explore different techniques, and take (for me) unconventional approaches. I was lucky to work with my current dream list of songwriters and we created a wealth of material – it was both difficult and thrilling to shape this album from so many ideas.” The results are sonically rewarding. Summer Is Gone marks the logical progression of an artist elevating their craft. “On my first album, I essentially recorded the first batch of songs I had written. For my second album, I saw myself as an artist actively choosing a direction. I wanted something old school - and working with Larry Klein and Booker T gave it that classic vibe,” Bazini says. “Now, I want to preserve the organic feel but modernize it at the same time for a blend of the old and the new. I’m curious to see how my fans will respond to both the similarities and the differences, when contrasted with my other albums. This has been a truly energizing period and I’m already enthusiastic to start the process of my next record before too long – and this one isn’t even out!”

Before contemplating further recording, Bazini will be engaging with his fans from the stage, bringing the album to full performance bloom. A comprehensive tour in support of Summer Is Gone will shortly be revealed, with details of current upcoming dates presently available at Bobby Bazini’s website and outlined below.

Bobby Bazini

Bobby Bazini
is a Canadian singer/songwriter whose full-length album debut, Better in Time, was a Top Ten hit upon its release in 2010. Born in Mont-Laurier, Quebec, Canada, he grew up in a rural setting in a family with a love for country music. Influenced by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan as well as Otis Redding and Ray Charles, he is often compared to Paolo Nutini. Bazini made his commercial recording debut in 2009 with the single "I Wonder," which became a hit on both French- and English-language radio stations in Quebec. A five-track EP featuring "I Wonder" and the follow-up single, "One Thing or Two," was released digitally in November 2009. Several months later Bazini made his full-length album debut with Better in Time (2010) on Mungo Park Records. Comprised entirely of material written by the 20-year-old wunderkind, Better in Time was a Top Ten hit on the Canadian albums chart. It was subsequently released by Warner Music in Europe, where it charted in France and Switzerland.
